The engineering students of the Hassania School of Public Works organized the 26th edition of the EHTP-Companies Forum on May 16, 17, and 18, 2023, under the theme:

“Sustainable management of water resources to ensure a resilient future: a major challenge for an innovative engineer.”

The opening ceremony of this event took place under the presidency of Mr. Mostapha FARES, Secretary General of the Ministry of Equipment and Water, in the presence of Mr. Said AHMIDOUCH, Wali of the Casablanca-Settat Region, Mr. Jaouad BOUTAHAR, Director of the Hassania School of Public Works, and the Presidents and General Managers and Directors of partner institutions of the EHTP.

Indeed, the chosen theme addressed a current issue, as Morocco has experienced a scarcity of rainfall and overexploitation of aquifers in recent years, leading to water shortages in various regions of our country. To address this problem, our Government advocates for encouraging better water resource management accompanied by a strong awareness campaign. However, the implementation of new regulations alone is not sufficient to meet this challenge; this duty and responsibility largely fall on engineers, who are supposed to bring new innovative solutions.

To discuss this theme, this edition saw the participation of more than sixty companies specialized in various fields and the programming of a conference, roundtable discussions, and consulting workshops.

This meeting was an opportunity for exchange and sharing, allowing the gathering of opinions from experts and various stakeholders in the water world to highlight the imminent role of engineers in optimizing, exploiting, and utilizing the water resources of the Kingdom.
