The engineering students of the Hassania School of Public Works organized the 26th edition of the EHTP-Entreprises Forum on May 16, 17, and 18, 2023, under the theme: “Sustainable Water Resources Management to Ensure a Resilient Future: A Major Challenge for Innovative Engineers.”

The opening ceremony of this event took place under the presidency of Mr. Mostapha FARES, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Equipment and Water, in the presence of Mr. Said AHMIDOUCH, Wali of the Casablanca-Settat Region, Mr. Jaouad BOUTAHAR, Director of the Hassania School of Public Works, and the Presidents and General Directors of partner institutions and establishments of the EHTP.

Indeed, the chosen theme addressed a current issue, as Morocco has experienced a scarcity of rainfall and overexploitation of groundwater in recent years, leading to a water shortage in various regions of the country. To address this problem, our government advocates for the promotion of better water resource management accompanied by a strong awareness campaign. However, the implementation of new regulations alone is not sufficient to meet this challenge; this duty and responsibility largely fall on engineers, expected to bring forth new innovative solutions.

To discuss this theme, this edition saw the participation of more than sixty companies specializing in various fields, with a schedule including a conference, roundtable discussions, and consulting workshops.

This meeting provided an opportunity for exchange and sharing, allowing for the collection of opinions from experts and various stakeholders in the water sector. The aim was to highlight the imminent role of engineers in optimizing, exploiting, and utilizing the water resources of the Kingdom.
