The training program offered originates from a traditional Hydraulic Engineering program at EHTP. The curriculum has been reviewed and enriched in light of new challenges related to climate change and the necessity for sustainable development, leading to the creation of the GHEV program (Hydraulic Engineering, Environment, and City Planning) in 2008.
Starting from the academic year 2015-2016, a new development in the program, in close coordination with the professional sector, led to the division of the GHEV program into two distinct programs: IVE and IHE (Hydraulic Engineering and Environment). The Moroccan professional sector, which was involved in establishing the IVE program, also plays a significant role, particularly in the final year of the program, bringing its knowledge and expertise to engineering students. The program spans 3 years, incorporating cultural projects, summer internships, and the Final Project (PFE) in collaboration with the professional sector.
In recent years, Morocco has initiated several major structural projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the population, supporting demographic and urban development in the Kingdom’s cities, and preserving the environment to create “sustainable cities.” As a pioneer in renewable energy, Morocco has set ambitious goals for the development of these energies, leveraging its significant potential in wind and solar resources. This has positioned the Kingdom as a role model for reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and a key player in the fight against climate change by organizing the Conferences of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 7 and 22). The IVE program provides future engineers with a strong and highly tailored training that meets all these needs. All fundamental disciplines are taught, along with the latest technical methods and analytical tools used in the professional environment. EHTP has highly qualified research professors, specialized in the majority of modules offered by the IVE program.
